FAQ
Questions worth asking.
What we get asked most, answered briefly.
What is Human Design?
Human Design is a personality and reflection system that combines astrological calculation with symbolic languages such as the I Ching, centers, gates, lines, and profiles. In practice, it explores questions like: how do you access energy, how do you make aligned decisions, and which roles or patterns repeat in your life?
How accurately do you calculate my mandala?
Near boundaries hundredths of a degree decide the outcome, so we compute without intermediate rounding. Planetary positions enter the calculation exactly, not snapped to a 0.5° grid — that alone is more than half a gate line. Add the time zone historically in force at your birthplace rather than today’s, and the coordinates of the place itself. How we derive the second moment is the next question; where the calculation hits a boundary, we tell you.
What is the design moment, and how do you calculate it?
Alongside your birth, a second moment feeds into your mandala: the design moment, roughly three months before birth. It shapes the unconscious side of your pattern — the part others notice in you before you do. Classical Human Design puts it at a flat "88 days earlier". That is a rounding: what is meant is three lunar cycles, and those take 88.59 days. We use the exact value. Half a day sounds like nothing, but in the mandala it amounts to almost a full gate line — enough to land on a different gate for some people. As a check, we run the classical method in parallel internally and show you where the two agree.
Why do you ask questions after the calculation?
Because for some people the calculation has no single answer — and we can measure that. The gates of the mandala have boundaries; if a position sits just inside one, a sixth of a line is enough to tip it to the other side. We check this for every mandala. For roughly one person in five it changes energy type, authority or definition: both readings fit the birth data, and no amount of astronomical precision decides it. Then we ask you — two or three questions about your experience, no jargon. At that point you are the better source than a tenth of a degree. If your mandala is unambiguous, we do not ask.
What makes iambecoming.one special?
Most Human Design tools hand you a cryptic chart — and the actual explanation then lives in long, expensive video courses. We do the opposite: iambecoming.one uses our own AI models to turn your mandala into concrete self-knowledge and practical impulses — clear and directly usable, without having to study the whole method first.
How is the mandala different from a chart?
A chart is the classical Human Design view with many details at once. The iambecoming.one mandala is our own focused representation: energy type, authority, profile lines, and 13 criteria are arranged so the core becomes easier to see. It does not replace the depth of Human Design; it makes that depth more accessible and easier to explain later.
Is iambecoming.one free?
Calculating your mandala and getting a first, meaningful analysis is free and needs no account. If you want to keep your mandala saved permanently, you create a free account with a confirmed email address. For deeper analyses and additional features there are paid offerings — what is free and what costs something is always shown transparently before any charge.
How do you protect my data?
We take this seriously. We self-host in Germany, store data in Germany, and run our own AI servers instead of passing your analysis to arbitrary external services. That keeps the product in a legal environment with very strict privacy requirements and gives us technical control over processing and storage.
Do I need my exact birth time?
No, but it helps. With an exact birth time your mandala is most unambiguous. Without it, some elements stay less certain — iambecoming.one visibly shows which parts are stable and where clarification makes sense. You can then sharpen your mandala through targeted questions about your lived experience, even if you do not know the time.
Do I need to know anything about Human Design?
No. That is exactly the point: no prior knowledge required. Terms are explained where they appear, and the results are written to be understandable and usable without studying the method first. Those who do know the system still find plenty of depth.
How should I read the results?
As an invitation to self-reflection, not as fixed truth or prediction. Human Design is an interpretive model — you decide what resonates for you and what does not. None of it is a promise about your future, and it is not a substitute for medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.
What can the chat companion do — and what not?
Elias and Vera know your mandala and answer from it: questions about your gates, channels, centres, type and authority, questions about the platform, and anything else on your mind. They only know your circumstances as far as you tell them — and they say when they do not know something instead of inventing it. No medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, no diagnosis, no prediction. Three questions are free; with the membership you ask without a limit. Your conversations are stored so they are still there next time, and you can delete individual messages at any time. Answers are produced on our own infrastructure — they do not go to an external AI provider and are not used for training.
Who is iambecoming.one for?
For people who want to understand themselves better — whether you are just getting curious or already know your chart and want a clearer, applicable interpretation. No prior knowledge is needed, and skeptics are welcome too: there is a path that works from your lived experience rather than your birth time.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete your account and its associated data yourself at any time in the settings — this happens permanently and without needing to ask us. As long as you have an account, your mandala stays saved for you; without an account nothing is stored permanently anyway.
Which languages is iambecoming.one available in?
Currently German and English. You can switch the language at any time; your analyses and texts then appear in the language you chose.
